Creating a Google Analytics account

  1. Go to Google Analytics.
  2. Sign in to your Google account or create one if you don't have one yet.
  3. Click Access Google Analytics.
  4. Click Sign up.
  5. Fill in the fields relating to the configuration of your account and your property (Account Name, Website Name, Website URL, Industry Category and Reporting Time Zone).
  6. Click Get Tracking ID.
  7. From the Google Analytics Terms of Service Agreement that opens, click I Accept.
  8. Add your Tracking ID to your website or blog.

Adding your Google Analytics Code to your site

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click on "Settings".
  3. Go to your brand settings by clicking on the "cog" icon.
  4. Click on the "Navigation" tab.
  5. Click on the "Edit tracking ID" button.
  6. Insert your Google Analytics tracking ID into the Google Analytics Code field.
  7. Click "Save".

Using Google Tag Assistant to validate the installation of your Tracking Code

It may take up to one week before you see statistics in your Google Analytics account. But you can use Google Tag Assistant right away to validate the installation of your Google Analytics tag, see what errors should be fixed, and what improvements could be made to optimize your web analysis.
